Scholarships

The Construction Growth Foundation (CGF) Scholarships support individuals working within our member associations who are ready to advance their careers beyond hands-on technical roles. There are two types of scholarships available in 2026 to enable further education and training beyond NZQA Level 4, helping to build leadership, capability and innovation across New Zealand’s construction industry.

  1. General Scholarship: Maximum value: up to $3,000 (paid in full upon approval)

  2. Impact Scholarship: Maximum value: up to $10,000 (Paid in two stages: 2/3 on approval and a 1/3 on submission of final outputs)

    • Applicants must be employed by, or be a member of, one of CGF’s industry association members.

    • Study or training must relate to the construction sector and be above NZQA Level 4.

    • Applicants must be based in New Zealand.

    • Equal opportunities are encouraged; all backgrounds and experiences are welcome.

  • Scholarships contribute to the costs of education or training activity that directly support capability development within the construction industry. This may include tuition fees, course materials or associated costs. Each scholarship is reviewed individually, with funding levels set according to available resources and alignment with CGF’s strategic objectives.

  • Applications are assessed on how well they align with CGF’s strategic pillars:

     • Building Intelligence
     • Strengthening Capability
     • Amplifying Influence
     • Enhancing Sustainability

We’re looking for applicants who can demonstrate that their study will create measurable benefits that are not just for themselves, but for their employers or businesses, and the wider construction sector.

  • All applications are reviewed by CGF against eligibility and strategic alignment criteria. Applicants will be notified of the outcome within ten days of a decision being made. If successful, recipients will enter into a Scholarship Agreement outlining responsibilities, milestones, and reporting requirements.

  • Successful applicants will be asked to provide short progress updates or a completion report. CGF may also invite recipients to share their story to inspire others considering further study. Funds are released according to agreed milestones, as outlined in the Scholarship Agreement.

    • Advance your career from hands-on work to leadership or specialist roles.

    • Access funding support for training that enhances your long-term prospects.

    • Strengthen your professional network across New Zealand’s construction industry.

    • Contribute to building a stronger, more skilled and collaborative sector.

  • If you’re unsure about your eligibility or want to discuss your application idea before submitting, contact us at info@cgf.org.nz. Our team is happy to guide you through the process and help you determine the best approach.
