Membership

How it works

    • Any Body Corporate (e.g., association, institute, company) that supports CGF’s purpose.

    • New applicants are admitted as Class B Members to start with.

    1. Complete the online application form

    2. The Board reviews and decides at its sole discretion.

    3. If declined, you may appeal to the next AGM (send notice within 20 working days of being declined).

      • If ≥ two-thirds of Voting Members support you at the AGM, you’re in from that date.

    • Needs two approvals:

      1. Board majority, and

      2. ≥ two-thirds of the voting members.

    • Set under the Bylaws. (You must pay any approved levies or subscriptions when due.)

    • Organisation name, address (physical/email), phone, start date, levies paid (if any).

    • For seven years after a member leaves: name and end date.

    • Members must keep their details up to date. Register is inspectable by Members in line with the Privacy Act 2020.

    • Resigning: Give 1 month’s written notice; you still need to settle any outstanding fees.

    • Dissolution: If your Body Corporate is dissolved, membership ends on that date.

    • Non-payment: If your annual subscription isn’t paid by 31 March, the Board may terminate membership.

    • Conduct/eligibility issues: The Board may terminate if you breach the Constitution/Bylaws, damage CGF’s interests, go into liquidation/receivership (unless a reconstruction), or no longer qualify.

    • You may require a Special General Meeting within 10 working days to review the decision. The Members’ decision there is final.

    • Note: Disputes between Members/Directors/CGF use the formal Dispute Resolution process (not the termination process).

    • Former Members re-apply as new.

    • If you were removed via termination, your re-admission must go to a General Meeting.
