We hope you’ve had a well-earned summer break and are feeling refreshed for the year ahead.

2025 was a strong year for planning and strategic groundwork at CGF. Member association activity is now fully underway, and CGF is operating with a dedicated team of three, strengthening our ability to deliver on the associations’ strategic priorities.

The engagement metrics tell us we’re on the right track, with a 77% email open rate and steady growth following the launch of our digital platforms in November 2025. With these foundations now in place, we are well positioned to scale our strategic communications across the sector in 2026.

NEW THIS MONTH

Resources on the CGF website

As ConCOVE Tūhura and other sector bodies wound down in December 2025, valuable industry intellectual property was at risk of being lost. CGF acted quickly to secure, preserve, and make accessible a range of critical resources, reports, and data assets.

These resources are now being embedded into CGF’s 2026 communications and activation plan and will be made available to the wider industry.

One newly released data asset produced by ConCOVE Tūhura is ConstrucTrend. This nationally designed workforce insights survey, completed in December 2025, provides trade-specific data (including carpenters, plumbers, and electricians) that has not previously existed in New Zealand.

The purpose of this resource is to help member associations to:

• Inform funding decisions using evidence rather than anecdote

• Strengthen advocacy with government through credible data

• Support members with practical workforce intelligence

More information on ConstrucTrend will be shared via our social channels soon.

Social media update

CGF’s social media channels launched on 20 October 2025 to build awareness, strengthen engagement with members, and support a more connected construction community. These platforms also provide a two-way communication channel for members and stakeholders.
